BOBJ On Linux Red-Hat 5.4 WORKING Monday, February 15th, 2010

BOBJ On Linux Red-Hat 5.4 WORKING

I just want to share… I just Installed BOBJ 3.1 over GNU/Linux Red-Hat 5.4, using MySQL 5.0XX Data Base, it was a little trike at the beginning but after the 3th installation, no problems at all, now we are working on the Designer, Xcelsius, CrystalReports and all the tools to put all things working together. I try over CentOS 5.4 and it works fine ( A laptop Intel Core 2 duo 4GB RAM ), just remember to install the libraries for the Operating System, the ENV variables and all will work. At the end I made 35 Installations under different scenarios like: Fresh installs, unpatched O.S. installs, etc…

SAP -GOLIVE- is ALIVE Thursday, January 7th, 2010

Finally, we got it, is Alive ! from BASIS view no problems at all, I’m hardly working in get a maximum SAP performance, it is a hard work, they are a lot of parameters involved. Additionally I’ve a close eye at EarlyWatch into the SAP SOLMAN, which is very very nice.
Now our internal users ( Key Users ) are finishing the operational setups, they now understand why IT areas spend a lot of time working late at nights fixing issues that can not been resolved during the day… I hope this can change their minds and understand why we do what we do, not without mention that we are seating for ours reading logs to keep application/systems up & running :D

Updating/grading SAP R3/ECC 6.0 – Kernel Thursday, December 17th, 2009

Updating a SAP Kernel is just easy… if all goes good ‘course !!

The 1th things that you must keep in mind is … what O.S. are you running,  the architecture, the actual SAP Kernel version, patch level of it… but BEWARE, STOP and make this Question to your self Why I’m going to do this Kernel Update/Upgrade ? … if the answer is convinced enough just doit !!
Ok, This is the way:

1- Go into Sap Service Market Place www.service.sap.com
2- Go to the Download section ( Search for kernel releases )
3- Choose your architecture, and O.S., then choose your kernel and patch level
4- Download them ! ( Remember always TWO FILES !!!:  SAPEXE*****.SAR & SAPEXEDB******.SAR )
