New Toy - New Project

Hi there, I just create a new project whit all me boys, this time a nice schema check this out:
a) 5 Blade servers: 4 of them in Round Robin & L.Balancin DNS and one more like Firewall
b) 1 pSeries server for a BIG BIG database and transactional server ‘couse
c) Storage !!!

New LacToc T61

Hi there This is my NEW T61 Lenovo ( Ex-IBM ) ThinkPad LapTop.

The first think I just did was to remove the damn windows vista sticker and the O.S. ….. I don’t even start the laptop usin this shit; I just remove them ….. then I put my GNU & Linux distro ( Mandriva 2007.1 spring ) and ….well It doesn’t work xDDDDDD …. so I decide to do this:

a) Disable APIC / ACPI during Install Process ( acpi=off noapic noacpi ), and run the installer
b) It Installed just fine but no sound no drivers so ….
c) Download a kernel that has some new features to operate whit this NEW ThinkPad ( 2.6.22.xxx > )
d) KERNEL - Patches- :
1. Sound
2. Wireless
3. FingerPrint device for security issues.
d) Play a LOT !! whit the NEW KERNEL; and the NEW features.
e) NVIDIA DRIVER COOL !!!! wellcome back BERYL !!
f) done :D

New adventures

Hi there every one, a new adventure is here, I began a new job this past 3th Sep, this time a challenge comes and I’m convinced that all problems can be solved as usual. I’m the IT Manager of a C.O. that has 8 POS, 6 in town ,2 in the main cities of the country. In this 1th week I just getting info from all the people at my charge ( 12 ~ 15 ).

There are a lot of problems to solve … thats the reason I’m there :P

Hi there … this past 3 days I had been working in Leon Guanajuato, this trip was principally to training people in the use of SugarCRM, it was a kind of boring but finally we did, the chicks from TMK department are just involved and they know who to keep a tracking on any customer that makes a call or goes to shop to the POS, some images here.

The basic purposes of such a code of ethics are:
· To provide a set of codified guidelines for ethical directions that system administrators must pursue
· To act as a reference for construction of local site acceptable-use policies
· To enhance professionalism by promoting ethical behavior
· To act as an “industry standard” reference of behavior in difficult situations, as well as in common ones
· To establish a baseline for addressing more complex issues

This code is not a set of enforceable laws, or procedures, or proposed responses to possible administrative situations. It is also not related to sanctions or punishments as consequences of any wrongdoing. A partial overview of one proposal for the code of ethics follows:
· Code 1: The integrity of a system administrator must be beyond reproach
· Code 2: A system administrator shall not unnecessarily infringe upon the rights of users
· Code 3: Communications of system administrators with all whom they may come in contact shall be kept to the highest standards of professional behavior.
· Code 4: The continuance of professional education is critical to maintaining currency as a system administrator
· Code 5: A system administrator must maintain an exemplary work ethic
· Code 6: At all times system administrators must display professionalism in the performance of their duties

Bye Quasi-Active-Directory WELLCOME SAMBA

Bye AD, and … wellcome SAMBA, this time like some others I decide to take advantage of my position at thus C.O., pour ugly win 2k3, your days are gone ’cause of SAMBA :), and not mention this software was not licensed even AD, but this stop yesterday Apr 19, when I migrate all the data of many users to the new samba server, the migration was just fine and today 20th the users do not see the difference between source files, it was fine all over the network.

Samba rulz !! … now I need to continued working on VoIP ( asterisk ) and SugarCRM for telemarketing dep, this migration whas only a resting time :P

There are 3 big issues mixed here:

  • Administration areas: They use VoIP in 4 Cities interlocked
  • Production Plants: There are two of them in different cities, they uses VoIP
  • Telemarketing: They uses the power of SugarCRM convined with Asterisk to dial outside
  • Some others: Some other stuff……

What to say, this time I’m doing re engineering of process in CEA ( Production plant ), is the 1th time that this plant is going to have posses at their areas…. but …. why this and why me …. well I know HOW :P ….. and in my hands is IT area… we are working hard to help them from our side just to make things better.

There’s a guy an ISO guy that has very very nice ideas according to all this that we are doing… we start working in process and I’m glad whit all this documentation ( for 2th time…. 1th was in 1999 to get an ISO Certification ), any way this job has more and more, we are developing so much things

  • Score Cards ( reports for hight directives to see tendencies )
  • Central administration of all infrastructure ( cost reduction )
  • VoIP in all the organization ( cost reduction )
  • Software Licensing ( cost reduction )
  • Politics 4 Technologies uses ( users manuals & politics )
  • Process re-engineering ( cost reduction & Optimization )
  • Software administration & develop ( cost reduction )
  • AND SO MANY OTHERS … ( All this is focused to reduce costs )
